OUR DEAR FRIEND LICORICE
 |
 |
We were so lucky to have known Licorice. Camp Ruff House has been a special place where we have been fortunate to meet some truly amazing dogs and people too. Licorice was one of those truly special dogs who touched us from the moment we met him. His spirit and love of life was inspirational to everyone who knew him and will continue to inspire us everyday.
For those of you who knew Licorice and even for those you who didn't we think this link will touch you all.

For those of us who have ever loved and lost a pet, we all know there is no greater pain then when it's time to say goodbye. The greater the pain, the more we loved. Even though a dog's life is far too short, none of us would trade a single day in an attempt to avoid the heartache.
So, enjoy all the time you can with your best friend while you have the chance. Take him for a walk even if it's raining. Give him an extra cookie when he's done right, or even if he hasn't. An extra five minutes of belly rubs really doesn't take that long. Throw the ball just one more time. You never know if that might be your last chance. Take nothing for granted.

Godspeed, Sweet Licorice. I know there is a special place in heaven waiting just for you. Oh, when you get there, keep your eyes open for a beautiful German Shepherd girl. Her name is Kylie. Tell her that her momma said hello.
